Chupa Day!
My Lhakar action today is simple. I put on a chupa instead of jeans and a blazer. Actually, I just finished teaching my composition class at Columbia in my chupa. Inevitably, we ended up talking about Tibet and the Lhakar movement. My students (who are actually brilliant and lovely young folk) flooded me with questions about Tibet.
Here’s me in the writing center, just after class:
Next, I have conferences with students, then I go back to being a student myself as I get my story workshopped (barf). Finally, I will attend a concert tonight (Clap your hands say yeah!). All of it in my blue chupa.
Also, just wanted to let you know that my short story, “The Greatest Tibetan Ever Born,” has just been published in Himal Magazine in print and online.
That’s all for today. Back to end of term madness! This is NYCYak, signing off. Ghale peh.
