Lhakar,a day of action!!

We who engage in nonviolent direct action are not the creators of tension. We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

I am a Tibetan student activist born in  exile and have never seen my homeland “TIBET”.  Everyday I think of my people living on the beautiful Roof of the World.  I am a Proud citizen of  Tibet but at the same time I always feel that there is something more we can do. Every March 10th we go out and protest, do signature campaigns about political prisoners and raise awareness about Tibet.  There is much we can do as we face the extinction of our culture and identity by the Chinese regime.  I celebrate Lhakar to reassert my Tibetan identity, heritage and culture and for all my people in Tibet and around the world and consider it as a day of ACTION.

Every Wednesday I not only imagine about Tibet but practice and act as ONE!  I wear the Chupa every Wednesday and talk about Lhakar to at least one Tibetan. I greet people with “Tashi Deleck” instead of “Hi” and say numbers in Tibetan (many people get confused though!!!) and try my best to speak fluent Tibetan.  So my fellow Tibetans, what is your Lhakar ACTION?????
